Destiny

Happily residing at my bookshelf.
In the middle of December a fellow Swedish collector approached me, asking If I would like to buy her Breyer traditional Headley Britannia on the Strapless mold. She knows I am very fond of the Strapless mold and she also remembered that I said I wanted one for my collection when I saw hers at a liveshow. How could I say no to such an offer, especially at a very good price?

The bookshelf is only a temporary home for her as I will bring her with me next time I go home so that she can reside among my other Strapless horses in my glass cabinet.
So a little over a week ago she arrived. She had one tiny eartip rub and an equally tiny hoof rub, they were barely noticeable and nothing that will prevent her from showing as she is otherwise in great condition with beautiful shading. She also had few tiny black specks on her offside barrel but those disappeared with a little water.

She was quite hard to photograph even in natural light since the natural light here has been bad for a while with pretty much grey sky and lots of rain or snow making outdoor photos a no and indoor pictures bad...
Her former name was Emerentia and she showed as an angloarabian. Quite successful too, as she has been class winner more than once, and also, as seen here, she was crowned Best original finish European.

I think she'll have a successful show career and I am lookng forward to getting some good showphotos of her, and of course to bring her to a liveshow :)

I plan to show her as a Swedish warmblood, probably with some thoroughbred influences, and her new name will be Destiny.

I really love her colouring! :)

Showing

Yes I've finally started showing with the IMEHA! Unfortunately it is only a select few models who are entered in shows since I haven't been able to take any new show pictures in quite a while. I know their pictures aren't great but I still think it'll be fun to see how they'd do :) The competition is quite tough so I'll need to improve my photos later on but it might not be before summer so these'll have to do for now :)

I actually found IMEHA quite easy to use. The hardest part for me was to know which class to put the different breeds and horses in since we don't have the same "system" in Sweden. Fortunately they have a great page to help you out.

I love to see how my horses do so I can't wait 'til the results are up =D

Plans for 2014

Like I said in this post I didn't achieve all of my goals for 2013 so most of them will follow me through 2014.

- Attend at least one liveshow.
Even though I did achieve this goal last year I'll have it as a goal for this year too :) I'm trying to get to at least one each year and this year I might even consider sending models to be proxy-shown.

- Obtain some of my "to be portrait" models.
This is my main focus this year. I want to obtain as many of the "to be portrait" models as possible this year so I can focus on getting them painted next year :)

- Get my RC Mini Haggis and RC Bruno painted.
My poor naked models are still waiting for their clothes. I think mini Haggis has been unpainted for about 7 or 8 years now... Shame on me...

- Paint some of my poor naked horses.
I've done very little painting in 2013 and hope to do some more in 2014 since I've found that I really enjoy the combination of acrylics and pastels.

- Obtain at least one horse for my Strapless conga. As I did manage to obtain a Headley Britannia in 2013 I want to add the Pottery Barn SR Strapless, Valvella or Party Girl. I wouldn't be sad if I got my hands on a Tiramisu ;) A Strapless body to be painted as semi portrait of a chestnut sabino rabicano warmblood mare would work as well :)

- Get started showing with the IMEHA
My login works so now I just need to take and upload some pictures and start showing :)

- Finish my website
All horses are up on the website so I just need to take photos for it.

- Organize my pedigrees
Have all of my pedigrees neatly organized in a binder.

- Keep blogging
I'm gonna try to keep up the blogging with at least 4 posts a month.

I managed to finish 1/3 of my goals in 2013 so let's hope for a better rate in 2014 :)

2013 Review

As seen in this post, my goals for 2013 were as follows:

- Attend at least one liveshow
- Get my RC Bruno painted as a portrait of Unik
- Get my RC Mini Haggis painted
- Paint some of my poor naked horses
- Obtain an Eberl Siegfried to paint as a portrait of Poppes
- Obtain an Eberl Elsa to paint as a portrait of Wera.
- Obtain at least one horse for my Strapless conga
- Get started showing with the IMEHA
- Finish my website and organize my pedigrees

I can honestly say that I haven't achieved many of these.
- I attended a liveshow in May so the first goal was achieved.
- Bruno and Haggis are still unpainted and have gotten some company... Yay! More naked ponies!...
- As for my other naked models..., they're pretty much still naked.
- I didn't obtain an Eberl Siegfried. But I did obtain another model that I'll have painted as his portrait instead :)
- I didn't obtain an Eberl Elsa.
- I kind of obtained a horse for my Strapless conga. I paid for her but she will arrive in the beginning of 2014 as I wasn't home to pick up the package. So in order to prevent her from being sent back to her former owner if the package wasn't picked up in time I asked to have her sent a little later. But I still count her as I did, technically, buy her in 2013 ;)
- I didn't get started showing with the IMEHA but at least I got the login to work :)
- My website is not completely finished as I haven't gotten any pictures up but all my horses are up :) And as for the organizing of my pedigrees it's still an ongoing project.

All in all that means I achieved 3 of my goals. Not a very high percentage (33,3%) =P

Looking back it was quite the model horse year for me.
2 painted resins, Helios and Belize
1 unpainted resin, Justin Tyme
2 customs, Bellami and R. Peppermint
2 original finish Breyers, Phoenix and Black Pepper
1 original finish Peter Stone, Remembrance

1 original finish Breyer that will arrive early 2014
1 unpainted resin that will arrive in early 2014.
These two will be introduced as they arrive :)
