Holy grail

Before I start with the show report posts I give you one of the reason that the liveshow was one of the best liveshows ever, even before the show started!

Back in September 2013, I was really bad... I wasn't supposed to be buying anymore model horses for a while but when I stumbled across a stripped Eberl Lohengrin up for offers I had to put an offer on him. I pretty much stalked his ad, hoping that I'd have a chance to win him.

I couldn't believe my luck when the bidding was over and my bid was the winning bid.

Ever since I saw a Lohengrin at a liveshow several years ago (like in 2006) I've been wanting one. I've seen some for sale over the years but I've never had the money to buy one. And honestly I've secretly wanted an unpainted one so that I could decide for my self what I want him to be. But unpainted Lohengrins seem pretty much impossible to find so I thought that if I find a nice bay I'd be very happy. That's why I didn't want to let the chance slip out of my hands.

So now I've got one unpainted and I'm pretty sure that I want to have him painted as a portrait of my beloved warmblood gelding, Poppes.

Anyway, until I've got the money to pay for him to be painted, and decide who I want him to be painted by, he's quite beautiful in his light grey primer so right now he'll make a beautiful ornament in my shelf :)

The reason it took quite some time to get him home was that the seller was to prep him but unfortunately life happened and she asked me if she could send him to a fellow Swedish collector and remaker to have him prepped. I know the person and have some horses she has done so that was fine by me. He came to her and she told me he was quite rough and would require a lot of prepping. I told her to take her time as I couldn't afford to have him painted anytime soon. And at the liveshow she delivered him to me :) I was so happy! I just had to unpack him and put him on my table so that I could admire him throughout the day of the show. Honestly I'm also glad I didn't have to pay shipping for him to be sent to me as he is quite heavy, and HUGE! I thought my Eberl Caitano was big but next to this guy he definitely isn't! Too bad I didn't get a comparison photo of the two.

I love him already and can't wait to have him painted and up in my shelf with the rest of my Eberl horses.
