Performance beginnings

So it took me just over a month to write a new, real, post... I still haven't found the powercord to my harddrive but during this time atleast we got the old car working and me and my father have been working on my car and finally got it finished last week so hopefully it will keep working :) My camera is almost working so I've snapped a few new pictures today. And as I'm writing this post I'm also working on my performance props :)

I have so many ideas that I would like to try my hand at, especially in the larger scales but I decided to begin in smaller scales. Mostly because most of the materials I had on hands worked well for stablemate scale and also because I find it to be quiet manageable to make props in that scale. And it's definately great training before I'll move on to traditional size, which will probably be as soon as I'll get my hands on some new performance models.

All pictures were taken at my kitchen table since I don't have a place set up for taking photos yet...

The first thing I thought of when I wanted to start making props for performance was a piece of a racingtrack. Ever since I won a stablemate Sonador racing set at a liveshow raffle I've wanted to show them in performance but the thought of showing two racingequipped horses with no racingtrack bothered me a bit. Especially since they're stablemates, I want to give them that little extra to get noticed on the showtable. I still think something is missing so if you have any tips or ideas to improve the track it would be greatly appreciated :)

Next up, I got the idea to make a whole scene of a three-year-old test for Swedish Warmbloods. Since it will require quite a bit of work to make all the little details and the fact that i need a base that will be a mini version of an 20x40m arena I haven't done a whole lot but here's a picture of a jump :) I'm actually quite proud of the jump cups, they gave me some trouble, but they look quiet good in photos :)

And the tobacco box in the background is great to store my paint tubes and paintbrushes in :)

And last, but probably not least, the one I'm most proud of, and the one I would love to do in traditional scale one day:

I apologize for the paintbrush handle sticking out. The jump is not yet connected to the base so it needed a little support so Caranto (Sm. G3 British Breeds Jumper OF) wouldn't fall into the none-watery-water jump :)

A cross-country jump, inspired by a Rolex water jump. I'm waiting for my local hobby retailer to re-stock on solid water so I can continue.

There are still things to work on on all props but I couldn't wait to show it off :)

Just For Fun

Found this test and thought I'd try it out :)

Your dominant hues are cyan and green.  Although you definately strive to be logical you care about people and know there's a time and place for thinking emotionally.  Your head rules most things but your heart rules others, and getting them to meet in the middle takes a lot of your energy some days.

Your saturation level is higher than average - You know what you want, but sometimes know not to tell everyone.  You value accomplishments and know you can get the job done, so don't be afraid to run out and make things happen.

Your outlook on life can be bright or dark, depending on the situation.  You are flexible and see things objectively.

Actually think this was a quite fitting result since I recognize myself in pretty much every line :)

And don't worry, I've got a modelhorsie post in the works and it will be up in a few days :)
