Performance Pictures

There were also a rather small performance division at the show, which I did not enter, therefore I was not great at taking pictures and can't really call this a show report so I just let you enjoy some of the pictures I took from the Performance division.

Rhian and Cadell

When this pair was announced from Breyer I knew I wanted them. I like both the mare and the foal but from the pictures I have seen, both promotional and in hand photos I wanted the mare more than the foal.

I decided to try and buy them second hand as I am not a member of any of Breyers clubs and I really, really wanted this pair. I found a person on MHSP willing to sell the pair as a pre order back in the beginning of April, I believe. I paid and then it was just a game of waiting.

They arrived today and I am very happy. The seller put them in a bigger box and even included the drawing and sticker.

The foal is super adorable.

Mine has quite nice details and just a few flaws. Nothing that can't be expected from a mass produced run.

His face is the best part, looking really cute.

The mare is still my favourite of the two. She does have a few flaws as well but I think she'll do great in photoshows, and maybe even a liveshow.

This mare is really adorable and she has so many cute angles to photograph.

Her face is the best part but I like her from nose to tail. Her face looks great from pretty much every angle.

And they are a really nice pair to display together.

Show Report Workmanship

At this show there were also a division for workmanship and I entered both horses painted by me and horses painted by others. The Workmanship division was divided into plastic and resin.

I showed 8 horses in the plastic championship and they were divided among three classes.
In Plastic Stablemate/LittleBit/Paddock Pals repaint all my three models were unplaced and so were the three I showed in Plastic Stablemate/LittleBit/Paddock Pals customs. My last two models showed in the Plastic Traditional repaint class and they did great, getting first (Firenze, Tr Totilas rep. D. Brown) and second (Lexus, Tr Totilas rep. J. Ward). When it was time for the voting for Champion Firenze surprised me a little bit by winning.

The resin division was a little bit smaller than the plastic championship which meant that two of my models were alone in their classes. Other than that my models did rather well. I showed two models in Resin Cast stablemate/littlebit/paddock pal repaint and they took first (Don't Call Me Nymphadora, RC Moxie rep. A. Brock) and third (Cheyenne, MM Sierra rep. L. Morris).

In the Resin Cast traditional repaint class my models took first (Sahale J, RC El Embosco rep. E. Gonzales), second (El Salvaje, RC Verrochio rep. L. Lawrynovicz) and third (Fallen Hero, RC Valor rep. N. Söhn). I was very happy to see Sahale J taking champion workmanship resin and then even more happy, seeing El Salvaje taking champion reserve.

When both the championship votings were done it was time for the Best in Show voting and I couldn't be happier to see two of my horses took Best in Show and Best in Show Reserve!

Show Report Halter

Saturday my boyfriend and I went to our first live show this year. It was held approximately two hours from home so quite close. At this show we were testing a different structure to the show then we normally do here in Sweden. From what I understand this way is the way shows are held in pretty much every country but Sweden. We got a class list and at the day of the show you just put your horses on the table in the right class. It was interesting trying something new but I am a big fan of starting lists as I find it so much easier to keep track of everything. On the other hand it was really nice to be able to bring the horse I got two days before the show.

We were quite a few people at the show which was great, some I've met before and some I've never met but no matter what it is always great fun to meet up with people who share my love for the plastic ponies.

Using this way of showing meant classes could be quite a bit bigger than we are used to. The Arabian class was one of those so we actually ended up splitting it so that it would be more manageable and so that we had someone to judge it. I showed my Mini Khemo, Sayad, painted by S. Nordström and me RC Gizelle, Arwen, also painted by S. Nordström in the Arabian resin class and they got 5th and 6th out of 14.

Champion Arabian, champion Arabian reserve and champion Arabian novice.
After the Arabians we got started with Sporthorses. In the Thoroughbred class I showed Lost All Hope (RC Kitty Didit rep. L. Lawrynovicz) and Fallen Hero (RC Valor rep. N. Söhn) and they got second and third in the class.

Warmbloods were up next and I had 8 warmbloods, showing in 3 different classes. Belize (RC Genoveva rep. S. Nordström) and Chester VS (RC Caitano rep. S. Nordström) showed in the Swedish Warmblood class and got first and 6th out of 11.

The other Warmblood class was another really big one (I brought 6 models for this class) so we once again, decided to split it. My new addition Nimbus, shown as a KWPN (RC Oscar cm E. Zarzecka), Lexus, shown as a Trakehner (Tr. Totilas rep. J. Ward), Firenze, shown as a Hanoverian (Tr. Totilas rep. D. Brown) and Diadora, shown as a Hanoverian (RC Akelei rep. ? ret by me) showed in the same class and took 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th.

In the other part of the split class I showed Caliber (RC Mini Caprice rep. S. Prosser) and Empire (AAE Davy Jones Waterfestival SR OF) they took 1st and 4th.

The champion vote was tough and I hoped my horses would do well. And they did, or more precisely, Nimbus did, claiming the Champion Sporthorse reserve title.

Draft classes were up after the sporthorses and I only had one horse to show, my old and faithful AR Brigadör (PC MM Brigadier rep. A. Gustafsson) who had quite the competition and was unplaced in his class of 14.
Drafthorse champion, champion reserve and champion novice.
Ponies were up after the drafters and I had 4 ponies to show in three different classes. Dear old Epsilon (NL New Forest OF) took second in the other ponies class. Gold Rush (Copperfox Sovereign OF) got unplaced in the British Pony class. In the riding pony class Maverick (RC Tivoli rep. A. Dionne) and Remembrance (PS Pony Shoal OF) took 3rd and 5th.

After ponies came stockhorses and I brought my 2 Moxies to show. Don't Call Me Nymphadora (RC Moxie rep. A. Brock) got third in her class and It Takes Two To Tango (RC Moxie rep. by me) got first in her class.

Stockhorse Champion and Champion Reserve/Champion Novice
Wildhorses and crossbreds came next and I had my, by now pretty well known pair of mustangs with me, Sahale J (RC El Embosco rep. E. Gonzales) and Nahele (RC El Embosco rep. J. Hall). I also brought my adorable little Cheyenne (Bennett MM Sierra rep. L. Morris). They did well taking first (Nahele), second (Sahale J) and third (Cheyenne). Nahele went on to be Champion reserve.

Wildhorse and Crossbreds Champion/Champion Novice and Champion Reserve
Then came the Riding- and Carriagebreeds. I showed 6 horses in 5 different classes. Raphael (RC Gabriel rep. by me) was unplaced in the friesian class. Bocelli (Tr. Tregoyd Journeyman OF) got 4th in his class. Make Me Justice (RC Santa Maria rep. by me) and Madonna (Sm. G2 ASB rep. C. Johansson) showed in the same class and got 4th and unplaced. Nazar (RC HA Akhal-Teke cm by me) was probably the biggest surprise of the day, winning his class.

Riding- and Carriagebreeds Champion, champion reserve and champion novice.
The only championship I didn't have any horses to show in was the other Equus. It had a nice mix of mules and donkeys and a zorse.

Foals were next to last instead of first like it has been in most shows for quite a while. I decided to only bring one foal to this show, Helios (RC Oliver rep. S. Kern) and he did well, winning his class and then going forward to win my only champion title of the day!

Foal Champion, Champion Reserve and Champion Novice
The last championship of the day was Fantasy, and I actually brought a Fantasy horse! My relatively new unicorn, Kanyou (CollectA Friesian cm A-KU) got to come with me to the show and he did not disappoint, taking second in his class.

The callback table was tough and it was close between the winners of the Best in Show titles.

Gorgeousness!

I have done quite a bit of model horse shopping the last few weeks and I was not supposed to buy anymore horses for a while. And then Oscar came up for sale.

I have enjoyed the works from Ela at MetalFishArt for quite a while and currently have a horse with her for a commissioned paintjob. However I have tried to acquire a piece by her for a while and when I saw Oscar, who is sculpted by one of my absolute favourite sculptresses I didn't want to pass the chance up.

I was so happy when I got the email that my bid had won! Then the wait started. Fortunately I didn't have to pay any duties on this model and the shipping was quite fast. Unfortunately the package was supposed to be delivered to my door on a day I wasn't home so the post office took the package back to the sorting place and the next day, drove it out to my pickup place. That meant I had to wait an extra day to get my horse. Normally I am quite okay with that but, I don't like to wait, but I can accept it. This time I was a bit more impatient as I really, really was looking forward to this model.

Anyway, the box he came in was BIG and he was VERY well packed. I was very careful unwrapping him from layers and layers and layers of bubblewrap but at the same time I kind of wanted to rip it all up and free my new, beautiful horse.

When I got him out, I gasped and was at a loss of words. I could do nothing but look at this beautiful model and appreciate the hug amount of work that has been put into him. Words can not describe how beautiful this model is and my pictures does NOT do him justice, at all! Link to Ela's photos that does him far more justice!

I couldn't stop looking at him! But I had worked late and had to go to bed so I had to wait until the next day to drool some more over him. No details was spared on this guy, whether it was details in the paintjob, like striped hooves and hair detailing in the markings.

Amazingly painted undersides of hooves.

The smoothest paintjob I think I have EVER felt and probably one of the best prep jobs I've ever seen.

His mane and tail is resculpted, among some other parts. He has veins sculpted, wrinkles in the right places, whisker bumps. Anyone who has ever had an unprepped Eberl model in their hands can probably testify that there can be quite a bit of prepping involved before they are ready for paint and I can only imagine how many hours and hours of resculpting and prepping that has been put into this piece!

There is not an imperfection anywhere near this horse! Ela has really, really put a lot of time, hard work and heart into this gorgeous piece.

I am so happy to finally have a piece done by her in my collection and I can't wait to have my commissioned model done by her (even though I know great work takes time and I will patiently wait for as long as she needs for him to be finished but seeing her work in person for the first time makes me want him even more!)

But until my commissioned model arrives I will enjoy this beauty (and maybe try to get my hands on some other models by her 😉)

I had a hard time to pick a breed for this guy but as he will come with me to a show tomorrow I kind of needed to make a bit of a quick decision. It stood between KWPN and Standardbred as I think he would look absolutely lovely as both! But for now I decided on him being a KWPN and I decided to call him Nimbus.

It will be fun to show him and I will enter him in both workmanship and halter but no matter how he will do tomorrow I couldn't be happier with my new addition!

This horse is so photogenic and beautiful and has definitely climbed high up the list of favourites in my collection!
