Liveshow Report Part 3: Performance

Performance is an absolutely awesome part of the model horse hobby. Unfortunately, I am not the most patient person and therefore tacking up performance horses does not go to well with my temper. I still managed to bring a few entries. I didn't expect them to do too much as I mostly participated to try and support the performance part of the hobby as it is not very big in Sweden.

The performance show was divided into three championships, English, Western and other. I had three entries to show, two in English and one in Western.

My two English entries were a Sidesaddle entry and a racing entry. They showed in the same class and took second (racing entry) and third (sidesaddle entry). My entries weren't particularly interesting but there were quite a few others that were! One of my favourites was the Cross Country entry that claimed the champion title of the English division.

Champion English Performance: Ölandstokens Snömonster, Cross Country
The entry claiming reserve was also a nice entry.

Champion English Performance Reserve: Lux VS, Dressage
The western championship was divided into three classes, Cowhorse classes, Pleasure/Trail classes and Other classes. My entry was the only one in the Pleasure/Trail class so he "won" it. the other classes were a bit bigger and in the end it was the freestyle reining entry from the other class that claimed the championship title.

Champion Western Performance: Too Good For You, Freestyle Reining
The reserve champion title went to the winner of the cow horse class.

Champion Western Performance Reserve: R. Cut A Candy Bar, Cutting
Other Performance was the biggest and most diverse championship of the day containing everything from circus horses to dioramas to a living room scene. It was a tough championship (in which I didn't vote as my boyfriend owned one of the entries). In the end the champion title went to my boyfriend's diorama.

Champion Other Performance: MÃ¥ntand, Slingersvans, Tramptass och Tagghorn, Diorama
With an awesome polo setup as Reserve.

Champion Other Performance Reserve: Flying Free, Polo
In the end the Best in Show voting was pretty much just as tough as the other votes of the day. My boyfriends diorama was voted Best in Show, with his Champion Reserve, as Best in Show Reserve. My boyfriend couldn't be much prouder as this is his first attempt at a diorama.

I will post pictures of some more of the entries in a later post 😊
