Grail and update

It has been a while since my last post and unfortunately there might not be too many more posts for the rest of the year. The last month or so has been busy, my boyfriend has had to work overtime everyday of the week since coming back to work after summer vacation, which means that I have had to do most of the chores around the apartment. I have also had a busy time at work and on top of it all, we are buying a house!

So I have barely done anything model related for the last month. And as we will be moving in the beginning of December we will be quite busy packing stuff up, sorting stuff that we won't bring with us and buying new furniture. That means that I might not be able to do much model related stuff over the next few months (but I hope to make up for it after the move as we will have a designated craft room and a designated room for horse shelves and collector's stuff! I have never, ever, had that before! So excited!) I do however hope to have time for a couple of posts before the move as I entered ICCE this year! But more on that and onto the real reason for this post!

I kind of shouldn't by unpainted resins at the moment. My shelves are kind of full of unpainted beauties begging for paint. I really don't need to add to that.

But sometimes you get a chance to buy something you have wanted for a long, long time and never thought that you would actually own. I recently found that. Back in August a picture was published on the Brigitte Eberl Appreciation Force facebook page. It was a picture of a whole lot of resins standing on a floor. It was announced that there were Hermiones in the picture and that she was available again.

For those of you who might not be that familiar with Brigitte's sculptures, Hermione is an older sculpt by Eberl, of a Fjord mare. I am quite sure that there were very few of her in existence and I have only seen a handful during my 16 years in the hobby. Therefore I was quite sure that my shelves would never be graced by this beautiful sculpture, who I think is one of the best Fjord sculpts out there. 

I emailed Brigitte the same moment I saw what sculpt it was and I read it was available. And a few days ago she arrived. She is not as rough as I thought she would be and I am so, SO happy to be able to add her to my collection, even though I really don't need anymore unpainted resins.

I need NaMoPaiMo to kick me in the butt and get at least one of these beauties painted, but who to chose?!

Wordless Wednesday - Pictures from New Zealand

 I won't spam you with holiday picture but I have to share a few. We had a blast, we went riding, diving, rafting, visiting locations from the Lord of the Ring and the Hobbit trilogies, walked in National parks and so much more! Here are a few quick pictures from our trip.

Blogging Hiatus

I just wanted to give you a heads up that I am having a blogging hiatus for a month to a month and a half as me, my boyfriend and some of our friends are going to New Zealand to travel and experience the country.

I will have wi-fi for most of the trip but don't expect me to post anything here as we will be quite busy. I will be back in mid-January and I might share some pictures from the trip then 😊.

Short leave

For the next 2-3 weeks there might not be any new blog posts up on this blog as me and my boyfriend have gotten an apartment and will move in next week. Therefore most of my model horses and model horse related stuff will very soon be packed away and won't be unpacked until we've gotten some kind of order in the apartment.

Good news is that I will be moving my entire collection with me. So as soon as our move is done I'll hopefully be able to blog more, take more photos of my models and actually do more model-related stuff! I also have a few models on their way to me that I'll present as soon as I can and a live show at the end of October that I'll of course give you show reports from :)

Giveaway win

Back in February, fellow blogger Kristian of Five Paws Studio, celebrated 100 000 views on her blog with a giveaway. I've been reading her blog for a while and I love her tack and enjoy the mix of posts with real horses, books and show pictures. So of course I entered the giveaway.

I then forgot about it until the results post came up in my blogfeed. I couldn't believe it, my name had been drawn!

The box arrived a while ago and I just, last week, got the chance to pick it up at my fathers house. 

The box was really nicely packaged and I picked things up and opened them as I went along.

I started picking up the two small boxes.

The first one I opened contained the nameplate halter that was the main prize in the giveaway. 

I was absolutely blown away by the details! Stitch markings, working tongue buckles, rolled throat lash and of course the tiny nameplate! I have seen a lot of Kristians tack in pictures but this is the first piece I have seen IRL and it is amazing! I absolutely love it.

The next little box contained something that made me really happy as well.

Mini books! I love everything in miniature so these books were a great gift. I want more and then I need a miniature bookshelf to keep them and then I might need a miniature room to keep the shelf in :)

The books have different heights and different thicknesses just as the real things!

I also got these adorable postcards from Chincoteague.

I got these cool facsimile prints of Northern States paper money...

...and Confederate currency. These are really cool and I have some fun ideas of what I can do with them.

I also got these two books which I can't wait to start read as they seem to be the type of books I really enjoy.

Last but not least, Kristian included this beautiful castle necklace. It came in a "The Geeky Cauldron" bag with a card from there as well so I draw the conclusion that the necklace came from there. I checked the store out and it had so many awesome things! I might buy some things from them very soon :)

I'm Back!

Or well I've been back in Sweden for exactly 3 weeks today but I've had so much to do catching up to do with everything and I'm back to work. After almost six weeks in South Africa it feels both strange and great to be back home! :)

So at the moment I'm doing my best to catch up on everything from my normal blogs, forums, youtube channels, IMEHA and NAN results, Swedish Modelhorse Society magazines and more so I'm far from done yet but I'm working on it!

I will post a few of my favourite pictures and I might do a post later with some more picture and telling you guys what I've done! :)

Leaving

The worst thing about leaving is saying goodbye. I hate goodbyes, even if I know that I will come back in a few months, I still hate it. I leave on Saturday and tonight I'll go to my boyfriend to spend a few days with him before leaving. That meant that yesterday was the last day I had with my dear animals.

So I took a long walk and played and cuddled with Liten.

Svante didn't want to play so we settled for cuddling.

Nike got some love and candy too, before he kindly volounteered for some photos of colours and markings for future references for his portrait piece.

I was to go and get Poppes in the pasture but before I got so far I was stopped by this curious beauty. She wanted some attention too.

My dear Poppes didn't care to much for my presence when I was to go get him. He got love and some care, like cutting his mane, tail and a thorough groom.

He looked a little more interested later on.

Like I said I hate goodbyes and this year it's even worse then last year. But hopefully I'll learn a lot of interesting things and have time to do some model horse related things during this time.

Packing up

During my short visit at home over the Easter holiday I packed a lot of model horses for an upcoming liveshow. The show is on the May 10 but since I have to return to my apartment and go to school until the 9th of May I thought it'd be a great idea to pack them when I had enough time.

The models are not the only thing I need to pack at the moment. Because when school ends in May I'll move out of my apartment and back home (for a few months before moving again since the university I attend is moving the Veterinary Technichans programme to the same city where they have the Veterinary programme).

That means that I need to pack up my entire apartment. Not that I was particularly happy with the move anyway (it's harder to find somewhere to live in the other town, although I've managed to find a studentroom, and it's now more than 400 miles away from home... compared to the almost 250 I have now...).

All my things are to be moved home on the 9th May and before then (except for the apartment packing and a projectpaper for school) I also need to have no less than 5(!) model horses finished for the show... Good luck with that... Especially since I wont be able to paint for a week when two of my classmates are staying with me before moving in with another classmate...

Wherever You Go needs an update with pastels. She's painted in acrylics right now but the paintjob is not very good so hopefully I can improve her a bit :)

This little guy is called Splinter In My Soul (after a song by a band I like). And he is to become a black overo with one, perhaps 2 blue eyes.

This is Lacoste and he is almost finished colourwise. He's got some problems on his flanks that I need to fix but besides that I only have some very slight shading to do on his legs and the details (hoofs, eyes etc.) left.

And my MHL Painting Contest Stablemates are still unpainted. But atleast they've got names now :)

The thoroughbred is called Midnight Queen and the Paso is called Adria.

So I have ALOT to do right now but I have some small blog posts finished to be posted during this time so that my readers wont notice my abscence too much :)

And of course I will give you a show report after the show!
