Show report - Vintage

The show also had a seperate vintage show. And in the vintage show customized horses older than 10 years were welcome to participate. It was great to see all the oldies. Some of them are real pieces of modelhorse history with the oldest pieces made way back in the 70's! That's impressive since most of them look really good for their age! Eventough I've been in the hobby for 8 years now (wow, where have the years gone?) I've mostly collected OF Breyer so I don't have any vintage horses but it's fun to see how good the oldies look :)

There was a total of 17 classes divided on 5 divisions.
Arabians/Thoroughbreds
Draft breeds/Pony breeds
American Breeds
Other Breeds
Foals

Champion: Walad (left)
Champion reserve: TEA Sheeba (right)
First up were the arabians and thoroughbreds. Some of them I've seen before and some I haven't. The oldest creation was from the 80's and the newest was dated 2003 in this division. In the end Walad claimed the Champion title. Walad is a Breyer PAM rrh by Sophie Nordström in 1997. Another rh PAM, this time by LMS remaking, from 1992, TEA Sheeba, claimed the champion reserve.

Champion: DO Ellusive Dreams (left)
Champion reserve: Simmerl (right)
The draft/pony division only had three classes, one for drafters and two for ponys. But eventough it was a small division there were still a great deal of nice horses ranging from the 70's to 2000. The champion in this division was DO Ellusive Dreams, a PAM rrh by Carol Hale in 1994. Reserve was Simmerl, a breyer clydesdale mare rrh Monika Baumann in the 80's
Champion: BGF Brokeback Mountain (left)
Champion Reserve: Crabtree Noontime Spender (right)
The American breed division was the biggest with horses created from the 80's to 2003. The champion of the division was BGF Brokeback Mountain, a Breyer Trakhener rrh by Michelle Belisle-Locke in 1994. Champion reserve was claimed by Crabtree Noontime Spender, a sweet old american saddlebred stallion who started his life as a Breyer PAS. He was rrh by Kay Holmes in 1985.

Champion: Phrixos (left)
Champion reserve: Björkhaga Waldemar (right)
The other breeds division had crossbreds, warmbloods and mules among others. The champion was a trakhener, Phrixos, made in 1977 from a Breyer Hannoveraner and rrh by Judy Renee Pope. The reserve was Björkhaga Waldemar, a Breyer cl. Jet Run cm Carlee Balling in 1995.

Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the foal division, which only consisted of one class. But it was won by Hallon, a paint foal, from a Breyer sm. TB foal, rep. Janet Bonney.

Best In Show: Phrixos (left)
Best In Show Reserve: BGF Brokeback Mountain (right)

The Best in Show was a tough vote but in the end Phrixos was crowned Best in Show with BGF Brokeback Mountain as Best in Show Reserve.
