Bigger horse

Another new horse arrived in the middle of our move. I was moving out from my fathers house on Saturday 1st October and thought that this model would be there in time for me to bring it with me. I got the notice to pick the package up on Friday and was like "Yes, it got here in time" and then I read the notice a bit thoroughly and it said that I could pick the package up after 4 pm Monday. Darn.

Oh well we moved and my father picked up the package for me and had it sent to my new address. So last week he arrived:

My very own Valor resin, painted by Nicole Söhn of Germany. I wasn't actively looking for a Valor at the moment, but he's been on my wish list for quite some time. And then I saw an ad on MHSP. And the rest is history.

I've always imagined my Valor to be grey as most Valors I've seen has been painted in some shade of bay or chestnut that I haven't found interesting but when this guy showed up realized that he wanted to come live with me.

He has a beautiful colour and shading (which my pictures do no justice) and looks so regal.

And he has a really handsome face with the cutest little white/pink spot on his lower lip :)

I thought about naming him Point of no Return but it didn't really suit him to a T so now I'm leaning more towards Fallen Hero. Suggestions would be welcome :)

Another mini

I am first and foremost a collector of traditional size models but sometimes (seems like a lot of times lately) a model I really like pops up in a different scale. Recently it was a mini Hazel resin that caught my eye. I really like the big Hazel but they are quite hard to find for sale at a price I can afford so when I saw the mini Hazel for sale I knew I wanted one!

She arrived some time ago and she is absolutely lovely!

She's a very detailed sculpt and beautiful from every angle.

I think she looks like such a nice, honest horse in the picture below, even though she's unpainted.

Here she is with a stablemate G2 draft horse for size comparison.

Right now the plan is to show her as an Irish Draught and have her painted grey or chestnut or maybe show her as a Cleveland Bey and have her painted a dapple bay. But that might change before I'll be able to get her painted :)

Moving

Our move has worked out quite well, we still have a few boxes to unpack and some details and decorations to do before it really feels like home but we are getting there. I really don't know how it's possible for a person to gather as much stuff as I have! And I was also surprised by the amount of model horses I have acquired over the years.

It took 18 boxes of different sizes, 1 small suitcase and one paper bag to move all of my models. One of the first things to be put together was my model horse cabinets as all the boxes took up quite some space :)

This is our bed in the new apartment prior to unpacking the models.

Only the boxes on the bed contains model horses :)

This is one out of my three cabinets and small shelf on the side.

Second cabinet.

And third cabinet, unfortunately without glass doors but I kind of need the space so it works.

Inside of the third cabinet.

I still need to organize the cabinets as I've mostly just put the models on a shelf without any special thought, but at least all 421 models are unpacked :) And hopefully I'll be able to start blogging more again soon.
