Show Report: Plastic Halter

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to a live show. This time it was a mini show with resin and plastic division, held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Swedish Model Horse Society and a Novice Show.

The show started of with the plastic foal championship. I showed no less than four foals in two different classes and they did very well. Troublemaker (Sm. Scrambling Foal rr. T. Wolmer) and Bellamie (Sm. Scrambling Foal rep. A. Gustafsson) took first and second in their class. Dixi (CollectA Donkey rep. T. Melin) and Tess (Schliech Trakhener Foal rep. T. Wolmer) took second and fifth. There were many great foals but in the end the champion title went to an Appaloosa Sporthorse Foal that we have seen quite a few times before and the reserve title went to an adorable arabian foal who was a new face to me.

Champion Plastic Foal Reserve: Olimpia, Sm. G3 Standing Foal cm. P. Lawson
Arabians were up after the foals and there were many nice models! I brought Pharao (Sm. G2 Rearing Arabian OF) mostly to have an Arabian to show but I didn't expect him to do anything and he recieved a fifth out of five in his class, as expected. To beautiful, bay arabians were voted champion and champion reserve.

Champion Plastic Arabian Reserve: KZ Nienna, Sm. TB cm P. Nilsson
Drafthorses were up next and it was a very diverse championship. I showed two models, Dunbar Prince (Sm. G2 Drafter rr S.Nordström) and Atlas (CollectA Irish Cob OF) and they took third and first in their respective classes. I wasn't expecting Atlas to do so good as I mostly brought him because he is quite cute but he is actually quite a good example of the breed. There were actually 2 fjordhorse classes in this championship and I really want to finish some of mine so that I can show some Fjords too! And will talking about Fjords, the Champion title went to a Fjord horse with the reserve being a North Swedish Horse.

Ponies were next and I had 3 to show. Neptune (Sm. G2 WB rep. T. Melin) went into other ponies and got second. Mirabelle (Sm. Swaps rr. T. Melin) and Bailey (Sm. G3 Jumper rep. T. Melin) showed in the same class and took first and second. It didn't stop there as Mirabelle was voted champion reserve behind a stunning shetland pony.

Champion Plastic Pony Reserve: Mirabelle, Sm. Swaps rr T. Melin
Sporthorses, my favourite championship! And the championship were I showed the most horses. I had no less than 7 models to show. Ice Baby, Ice (Sm. G2 TB rr C. Johansson) and Royal's Mexican Heat (Sm. G2 TB rr S. Nordström) took first and third in their class. Third place in the warmblood stallion and gelding breyer stablemate class went to Bailando (Sm. G2 Andalusian rr. T. Melin). Avatar (CollectA Hanoverian rep. T. Melin) took fourth out of four in a tough class. Amorina (WIA Bella Rose OF) was second in her class while Symphony D (Sm. G3 WB rr S. Nordström) got first in hers and Dakota (Bella Rose rep. T. Melin) got fifth in the same class. In the end the winner of Avatar's class went on to be voted champion, with my own Symphony D as reserve.

Champion Plastic Sporthorse: Tristan CH, CollectA Hanoverian rep P. Nilsson
Champion Plastic Sporthorse Reserve: Symphony D, Sm. G3 Warmblood rr S. Nordström
Riding- and carriagebreeds was quite diverse but I only had 3 horses to show. Aragorn (CollectA Friesian OF) took third out of three in the friesian class. Madonna (Sm. G2 ASB rep. C. Johansson) and Since You Don't Love Me (Sm. G2 ASB rep. A. Gustafsson) took first and second in their class. The callback table was an array of beautiful horses and in the end, a beautiful morgan was voted Champion with an intricately painted knabstrup as reserve.

Champion Plastic Riding- and Carriagebreeds Reserve: Merrilinn J, Sm. G2 WB cm A. Zaharenkova
Stockhorses were one of the three championships were I had no horses to show. It was a rather small championship, but no less competitive and the champion voting was just as tough as the others. The champion vote settled on an appaloosa and reserve went to a paint.

Champion Plastic Stockhorse: Cool Girl, Sm. G3 QH rep. A-K Uhlén
Champion Plastic Stockhorse Reserve: TO Purring Magic, PS Chips CM P. Lawson
Wild- and crossbreds was another smaller championship and I showed no horses in it. The champion title went to a crossbred akhal-teke x Swedish Warmblood and the reserve was a mustang.

Champion Plastic Wild- and crossbreds: Grochod, Sm. G2 WB rep. O. Kuks
Champion Plastic Wild- and crossbreds Reserve: Nacho, Sm. G4 Mustang rep. P. Lawson
Other Equus was the smallest championship in the division with only one class. So the champion title went to the winner of the class and the reserve title went to the second place model. It was two adorable donkeys who claimed the titles.

Champion Plastic Other Equus: Evina, Safari donkey cm S. Nordström/ret P. Lawson
Champion Plastic Other Equus Reserve: Smörblomma, Schleich Donkey OF
The callback table for the Best in Show voting was really tough but in the end the cuteness that was the Shetland pony from the pony championship won the Best in Show title with the morgan from the Riding- and carriage breeds championship as Best in Show Reserve

Best in Show Plastic: Wolverine
Best in Show Plastic Reserve: Penell's Mood
Next up will be the resin halter.
