I have so many ideas that I would like to try my hand at, especially in the larger scales but I decided to begin in smaller scales. Mostly because most of the materials I had on hands worked well for stablemate scale and also because I find it to be quiet manageable to make props in that scale. And it's definately great training before I'll move on to traditional size, which will probably be as soon as I'll get my hands on some new performance models.
All pictures were taken at my kitchen table since I don't have a place set up for taking photos yet...
The first thing I thought of when I wanted to start making props for performance was a piece of a racingtrack. Ever since I won a stablemate Sonador racing set at a liveshow raffle I've wanted to show them in performance but the thought of showing two racingequipped horses with no racingtrack bothered me a bit. Especially since they're stablemates, I want to give them that little extra to get noticed on the showtable. I still think something is missing so if you have any tips or ideas to improve the track it would be greatly appreciated :)
Next up, I got the idea to make a whole scene of a three-year-old test for Swedish Warmbloods. Since it will require quite a bit of work to make all the little details and the fact that i need a base that will be a mini version of an 20x40m arena I haven't done a whole lot but here's a picture of a jump :) I'm actually quite proud of the jump cups, they gave me some trouble, but they look quiet good in photos :)
And the tobacco box in the background is great to store my paint tubes and paintbrushes in :) |
And last, but probably not least, the one I'm most proud of, and the one I would love to do in traditional scale one day:
A cross-country jump, inspired by a Rolex water jump. I'm waiting for my local hobby retailer to re-stock on solid water so I can continue.
There are still things to work on on all props but I couldn't wait to show it off :)
