Liveshow Report Part 2: Other Divisions

There were several different divisions at the show. Unfortunately as I didn't have my trusty camera I didn't take to many pictures so I pretty much only have pictures of the Best in Shows in the different divisions.

Animal Artistry Show

The Animal Artistry show consisted of 3 championships, AA, AAA and AAE. I only had two horses to show , Athame (AA Sabiha ret) and Jax (my newly finished AA Welsh Sec C). They're both AA's so they showed in the same class, placing second and fifth. Athame claimed the Reserve champion title behind Theodore, the winner of the AA class. They also followed each other to claim the Best in Show Animal Artistry and the Best in Show Reserve.

Best in Show Animal Artistry: Theodore, AA SOAS OF
Best in Show Animal Artistry Reserve: Athame, AA Sabiha ret.

Eberl Show

The Eberl show was probably one of the divisions I was looking forward to the most as I love Brigitte Eberls sculptures. There were 2 championships in this division, Resin and Plastic. I showed a total of 6 models in this division, 4 in the plastic classes and 2 in the resin classes. Black Pepper (Tr. Zenyatta's Colt OF) took third in his class. Charisma (Tr. GG Valentine OF), Lord (Tr. Keltic Salinero OF) and Fandango (Tr. Valegro OF) showed in the same class placing first, fourth and fifth.

In the resin class Belize (Eberl Genoveva rep. S. Nordström) took third and Chester VS (Eberl Caitano rep. S. Nordström) took sixth. In the end a really nice Eberl mini Resin claimed the Best in Show title with a gorgeously painted Babette as reserve.

Best in Show Eberl: Tactic, Eberl Tornado rep. J. DeCurir
Best in Show Eberl Reserve: AR Belleamie, Eberl Babette rep. A. Gustafsson

Bendable Custom

The bendables custom show consisted of 6 classes. I was supposed to show 6 horses in this division but two of them weren't finished in time so I only showed 4. The first of them was Tess (Schleich Trakhener Foal rep. T. Wolmer) who took first in her class. Newly finished Valencia (CollectA Pinto Mare rep. T. Melin) and Avatar (CollectA Hanoverian rep. T. Melin) showed in the same class and placed third and fifth. Newly finished Dakota (WIA Bella Rose rep. T. Melin) took second in her class. In the end the same Ardennais who took champion reserve in the halter show claimed the Best in Show title with an amazingly detailed Walkaloosa as reserve.

Best in Show Bendable Custom: Sven, Schleich Ardennais rep. J. Dueck
Best in Show Bendable Custom Reserve: Spotted Midnight, Safari LTD TWH rep. S. Necco

Fantasy Show

The Fantasy show is always nice to see even though I don't have any horses to show in the division. This time it consisted of a really nice variety from unicorns, Pegasuses, alicorns, decorators and more. The Best in Show was a really cool woodgrain model and the reserve an adorable unicorn foal.

Best in Show Fantasy: Ukhuni, Breyer Mu Wen Ma OF
Best in Show Fantasy Reserve: Shakaar, AA Cupid Unicorn OF

Custom by Owner, Novice Show

Was the smallest division of the entire show, with only one entry, which of course was crowned Best in Show. He was nicely painted and haired and it was fun to see him.

Best in Show Custom by Owner Novice: Hestor, Revell cm L. Hellberg
Vattenpasset

Was a special division for winners from previous years of the show. The winner was a beautiful Animal Artistry Welsh with the beautiful Eberl mini Tornado as reserve.

Vattenpasset Best in Show: Cascade's Lawman, AA SE Rearing Welsh sec A Stallion OF
Vattenpasset Best in Show Reserve: Tactic, Eberl Tornado rep. J. DeCurir

Bantam and Micromini Show

The small guys got their own division and it was really fun to see how good these little ones really are. I only had one to show, Ayers Rock Brigadör (MM Brigadier rep. A. Gustafsson) but he took first in his class. The Best in Show title went to a really small H0 railroad model with a slightly larger resin as reserve.

Best in Show Bantam/Micromini: LuLu, H0 Railroad Br Clydesdale Knockoff rr. C. Riley
Best in Show Bantam/Micromini Reserve: Delia of Décorima, RC Souvenir rep. D. Laird Ban

Brekables Show

Although I'm not that into breakables I actually own one, which showed in this division. Bellini of Décorima (Lakeshore Houdini OF) took fifth in his class. So many models in this division were absolutely amazing. Two of my favourites managed to claim the Best in Show and Reserve titles. After seeing those I might reconsider my "no-breakables policy". 😊

Best in Show Breakable: Thorsten, Oberon CG J. Berkwitz
Best in Show Breakable Reserve: Whatdidyousay Z, AAA Mini TB CMG

OF Extravaganza Show

I have quite the OF collection so the OF division was a division I definitely looked forward to. It was divided into two championships, Bendable and Plastic.

I decided to show some of my favourite OFs so I didn't bring any bendables. The bendable championship was quite tough but in the end an adorable foal took first with a really nice fjord as reserve.

Champion Bendable: Breaking Dawn, Schleich TWH Yearling OF
Champion Bendable Reserve: Björn den Store, CollectA Fjord stallion OF
I showed no less than 8 horses in the plastic championship. Some of them did quite well. Best results came from Imperia (Sidesaddle Strapless OF) who took first, and Ancient Gold (Tr. Akhal-Teke OF) who took second place. Elessar (Copperfox Finnegan OF) managed to take second place in his class behind a beautiful Peter Stone Palouse. They claimed the championship titles and then went on to become Best in Show and Best in Show Reserve of the OF show.

Champion Plastic and Best in Show OF: Miss Rose Garden, PS Palouse "As You Wish" 3/50 Matte SR OF
Champion Plastic Reserve and Best in Show OF Reserve: Elessar, Copperfox Finnegan OF
Workmanship

The workmanship division was divided into 7 smaller "shows".

The first was simple plastic in which I showed two horses. Madonna (Sm. G2 ASB rep. C. Johansson) took first in her class with Since You Don't Love (Sm. G2 ASB rep. A. Gustafsson) as second. Madonna went on to claim the Best in Show title with the awesome walkaloosa who did well in the bendables custom show as reserve.

Simple Plastic Best in Show: Madonna, Breyer SMG2 ASB rep C. Johansson
Simple Plastic Best In Show Reserve: Spotted Midnight, Safari Ltd TWH rep S. Necco
In the medium plastic show I showed three horses. Bailando, my NaMoPaiMo model (Sm. G2 Andalusian rr. T. Melin), Ice Baby, Ice (Sm. G2 TB rr. C. Johansson) and Neptune (Sm. G2 WB rr. T. Melin). They all showed in the same class taking first, second and fourth place. I was happily surprised (but proud) when Bailando won his class but when he went on to claim the Best in Show title I was almost about to cry with pride! Bailando is probably my favourite out of all the models I have made so far and he is kind of special as he is one of the bigger resculpts I have made. Ice Baby, Ice claimed the champion reserve title but I barely noticed as I was still in chock that Bailando had done so good!

Medium Plastic Best in Show: Bailando, Sm. G2 Andalusian rr T. Melin
Medium Plastic Best in Show Reserve: Ice Baby, Ice, Sm. G2 TB rr C. Johansson
The drastic plastic division was fun to see but I didn't have any models to show in it. The mini from the Bantam/Micromini division held her own in the drastic plastic show too claiming the Best in Show title with a cute hackney as reserve.

Drastic Plastic Best in Show: LuLu, H0 Railroad Br Clydesdale Knockoff rr. C. Riley
Drastic Plastic Best in Show Reserve: Jack Pridey, Sm. G2 ASB cm S. Nordström
In simple resin I showed three models, two of them was my new acquisitions. Fallen Hero (Valor rep. N. Söhn) managed to take first in his class with Nahele (El Embosco rep. J. Hall) as third. Don't Call Me Nymphadora (Moxie rep. A. Brock) managed to take first in her class and went on to claim the Best in Show Reserve title behind a really nice grey Arabian.

Simple Resin Best in Show: Shahnaz, RC Delilah rep. J. Vingerling
Simple Resin Best in Show Reserve: Don't Call Me Nymphadora, RC Moxie rep. A. Brock
There were only one model in the Drastic Resin division which meant that he went on to claim the Best in Show title.

Drastic Resin Best in Show: Joker, NL Donkey CM J. Williford
Drastic Resin Best in Show Reserve: -
In Bantam/Micromini workmanship I only showed one horse. Ayers Rock Brigadör managed to take third place behind the two models who would go on to claim the Best in Show and Best in Show Reserve titles. The winner, an absolutely amazingly detailed Knabstup and the Reserve a gorgeously painted Friesian Sporthorse.

Bantam/Micromini Best in Show: Romulus, Roustam rep C. Riley
Bantam/Micromini Best in Show Reserve: Rokus, JV Friesian rep. C. Riley

The Mold challenge of the year was Breyer's G1 Stablemate Arabian Stallion. The class was quite small but had some beautiful entries. A beautiful bay tobiano took the Best in Show title with a nicely painted liverchestnut Arabian as Reserve.

Mold Challenge G1 Sm Arabian Stallion Best in Show: Aleksey of Décorima,  Sm G1 Arabian Stallion rep. C Johansson
Mold Challenge G1 Sm Arabian Stallion Best in Show Reserve: Haribu ad Nethaif, SM G1 AS rep. S. Nordström

Colour Show - Brilliant Brunettes

The colour show for this year was for bay models. My models did very well in this show, Fallen Hero placed first in medium bay, Maverick took first in dark bay/seal bay and Lost All Hope took third in the same class. Fallen Hero then went on to claim the Best in Show title with Maverick as Reserve.

Best in Show Brilliant Brunette: Fallen Hero, RC Valor rep. N. Söhn
Best in Show Brilliant Brunette Reserve: Maverick, Tivoli rep. A. Dionne

Favourite of Favourites

At the show all of the entrants got to chose their favourite model of the show and these favourites where then voted on to find the favourite of favourites. The winner was the beautiful grey Arabian who did well in the workmanship division. The reserve was the beautiful Ardennais who was crowned champion draftbred in the halter show.

Favourite of Favourites: Shahnaz, RC Delilah rep. J. Vingerling
Favourite of Favourites Reserve: AR Belleamie, Eberl Babette rep. A. Gustafsson
It was a fun couple of days at the show and I can't wait for the next show.

Liveshow Report Part 1: Halter Division

I had a blast at last weekends show but unfortunately I managed to forget my camera! That unfortunately means that I have very little photos so show you and all of them are taken with my phone so the quality is not great. It was quite the bummer forgetting the camera as several of my horses did rather well at this show.

The limit for horses each owner could show in the halter show was a bit smaller than on other shows I've recently been to so I showed 14 horses in the halter show as one wasn't finished in time. That meant that some of my regular showstring had to stay home to make room for a few newbies.

The foal division was the first of the day and I only had one horse to show, my trusted Helios, who didn't disappoint, taking first in his class and later on claimed the champion title. His reserve was a super cute donkey foal painted by it's owner and the novice champion was a really nice thoroughbred foal.

Champion Foal: Helios, RC Oliver rep. S. Kern
Champion Foal Reserve: Plopp, HA Palmerston rep. T. L. Enarsson
Champion Foal Novice: High Hopes, Breyer Zenyatta's Colt OF
The Arabian championship was quite a lot smaller than what I've become used to but the horses shown in the championship were still gorgeous. I only had one Arabian to show, Athame (AA Sabiha ret.) and she placed third out of three in her class. The winner of her class was one of my favourite models of the show, a beautiful AA Sabiha PHV painted and haired by Faye Cohen. She was such a beauty! The reserve champion had the most incredibly detailed rabicano markings I have seen in person (and my pictures don't do him any justice). The novice champion was a really nice bay CollectA Arabian.

Champion Arabian: Narasimha, AA Sabiha PHV rh F. Cohen
Champion Arabian Reserve: Shikuulharaharijar, Windwalker rep. J. Saar
Champion Arabian Foal Novice: Tryptyk, CollectA Arabian OF
The drafthorse championship was bigger than the Arabian championship and some really nice horses showed in it. I surprised myself by having two horses to show. Both of my horses did great, Ayers Rock Brigadör (MM Brigadier rep. A. Gustafsson) took first in the Shire class and Brego (Mini Haggis rep. by me) took first in the Clydesdale class. In the end it was the day of the Ardennais as the champion was the winner of the Ardennais class, the Reserve was the horse who placed second in the Ardennais class and the Novice champion was another Ardennais!

Champion Drafthorse (Top photo): AR Bellamie, RC Babette rep. A. Gustafsson
Champion Drafthorse Reserve (Bottom photo): Sven, Schleich Ardennais rep. J. Dueck
Champion Drafthorse Novice (Top photo): Blända, Britains LDT rep. L. Hellberg
The pony championship contained 5 classes with a nice mix of Shetlands, Welshes, Riding Ponies and a mix of other ponies. I showed two ponies in this championship. Trusty old Epsilon (NL New Forest OF) did well winning his class and claiming the championship title. My other pony, Maverick (RC Tivoli rep. A. Dionne) placed third in the Riding pony stallions class. The champion reserve was an adorable Shetland pony and the novice champion was a really nicely painted welsh.

Champion Pony: Epsilon, NL New Forest OF
Champion Pony Reserve: Sprout, HA Truffles OF
Champion Pony Novice: Silverpilen, Breyer Dreamhorse rep. L. Hellberg
I was supposed to have two horses two show in the Riding- and Carriagehorse championship, both painted by me. Unfortunately I didn't manage to finish one of them in time so I could only show one. Happily Raphael (Gabriel rep. by me) did very well, placing first in his class. It wasn't enough to beat the really nicely painted Nahar for the champion title or the awesome China By Comittee II for the Reserve title. I'm still happy he did as good as he did 😊. The novice champion was a really nice Breyer Breeds of the World ASB.

Champion Riding- and Carriagehorse: Aladdin, RC Nahar cm K. Cresbrecht
Champion Riding- and Carriagehorse Reserve: Gnista, HA By Committee II OF
Champion Riding- and Carriagehorse Novice: Hot Scott, Breyer BOTW ASB OF

The sporthorse championship is the one I like best and the one that I usually show most horses in. This time was no exception. I showed 4 horses this championship, two Swedish Warmbloods and two thoroughbreds. I believe this was the biggest championship of the day and contained both thoroughbreds, warmbloods, cold- and warmblooded trotters and Friesian sporthorses. Lost All Hope (Kitty Didit rep. L. Lawrynovicz) took third in her class. Chester VS (Eberl Caitano rep. S. Nordström) and Belize (Eberl Genoveva rep. S. Nordström) both showed in the same class, earning second and fourth place. Fallen Hero took first in his class and went on to claim the champion reserve title behind a gorgeous Spinnaker shown as a coldblooded trotter. The Novice champion title went to a nicely painted Britains model.

Champion Sporthorse: Mån Ravn, RC Spinnaker rep. A. B-Farelle
Champion Sporthorse Reserve: Fallen Hero, Valor rep. N. Söhn
Champion Sporthorse Novice: Graziella, Britains LDT rep. L. Hellberg
The Mustang/Stockhorse championship was probably the one I looked forward to the most of the day as I had three horses two show, none of which had actually been shown by me before. Two of them are recently acquired and one was newly finished by me. My three horses showed in three different classes. My newly finished Moxie resin, It Takes Two To Tango took second place in the paint class. My other Moxie resin, Don't Call Me Nymphadora, took first in the other Stockhorse class and went on to claim the Champion Reserve title. My other new addition Nahele (El Embosco rep. J. Hall) took first in his class and claimed the champion title.

Champion Mustang/Stockhorse: Nahele, RC El Embosco rep. J. Hall
Champion Mustang/Stockhorse Reserve: Don't Call Me Nymphadora, Moxie rep. A. Brock
Champion Mustang/Stockhorse Novice: -
The other Equus championship was the smallest of the day but had some super cute entries none the less. I had no horses to show in this division as I only own 1 donkey and 3 mules (one is not even painted) and they are very seldom taken out to shows. Both the champion and the reserve were super cute donkeys.

Champion Other Equus: Joker, NL Donkey cm J. Williford
Champion Other Equus Reserve: Bonnie, Schleich Donkey mare ret. K. Persson
Champion Other Equus Novice: -

The Drafthorse champion AR Belleamie went on to be voted Best in Show with the Sporthorse Champion Mån Ravn as Reserve. Hot Scott, the Champion Novice from the Riding- and Carriage horse championship was voted Best in Show Novice.

Best in Show: AR Belleamie
Best in Show Reserve: Mån Ravn
Best in Show Novice: Hot Scott

In my next post I'll cover the other divisions of the show 😊

Acadia

I really liked Breyers traditional Valegro model and was reall glad when I got my hands on him. Then, Breyer released Acadia. Acadia is pretty much like taken from my dreams, a beautiful shade of chestnut with lots of chrome. That meant that I had to try and get my hands on one.

He arrived a few days ago and I love him! He does have a few smaller imperfections but for a factory finished model I don't think they are too bad and I have no doubt that he can be a good show model 😊.

I have yet to assign him a name and a suitable breed, I'm thinking Hanoverian but we'll see when I'm done.

I'm thinking of entering him in a show in August so by then I need to pick a breed and a name.

I also can't wait to get some better pictures of him as these are terrible! But I still think he manages to look quite handsome 😉.

I'm still over the moon about this guy 💖.

Eberls

Almost 2 weeks ago I got a notice to pick up a package at the post office. It was a huge package as I kind of splurged on some Eberl resins.

The first resin I picked up of the package was the HUGE(!) Oschonda. This girl is beautiful, and BIG! She towers over most (or pretty much every) model horses in my collection. There is a bit of prepping to do on her before painting but that's okay as I have yet to figure out a breed and colour for her.

The next resin I picked up was one I hadn't heard of. This is Danton. I was quite fond of the Korsar but not too fond of the fact that his mouth was slightly open and that his braids are on top of his neck so when I saw Danton I didn't hesitate. I have yet to decide on a colour and breed for him.

Next up was another boy. This is Tamerlano. I've been fond of this resin since his release ao I was very pleased to be able to buy him. He has such a nice face! Breed and colour yet to be decided.

The fourth horse I picked up is Primula. Unfortunately when I unpacked her, her ears where broken. I managed to find one of the ears (broken into two pieces) but for the other ear I was only able to salvage one of the two parts as the other part literally crumbled to tiny pieces. From what's left of her ears they look almost paper thin so it wasn't too surprising that they broke. Anyway, I'll have to do some resculpting and prepping before any paint will be put on the horse. She will be painted as a portrait of a Swedish riding mare I knew who has quite the similar body type to this girl. She'll be a black going grey, beginning to dapple. I do have an artist in mind for her colour and I really hope I'll be able to snag a painting slot when the artist opens up her books again 😊

There were also one other model in the box but he'll be a secret for quite some time yet...

With the arrival of these lovely models (and another buy in the near future) I will need to try my best to stay away from MHSP for a while 😋

I almost made it!

For those of you who wondered how I did with the horses for the show I have a few pictures.

I didn't manage to finish all the 9 horses but I managed to finish some of them. Please excuse the bad photos, I just had time to snap a few quick photos before I had to leave for a short vacation before going to the show.

First out is Jax. He is the poor broken AA welsh that I acquired some time ago. His base is not finished as I haven't decided on how I'd like to have it look. So for now I just say he's trotting on a dirt road. I'm actually quite proud of how he turned out.

The next girl is Valencia. She turned out really cute and even though I had envisioned her as without markings she ended up with a star and a white coronet.

Avatar is up next and he turned out almost as I envisioned.

Raphael was fighting me a bit on the way so I'm glad to say he's finished. He had really small eyes so I'm glad that I found the 10/0 brushes I bought in London, because without them his eyes would've been a pain.

Dakota turned out pretty much exactly how I envisioned and I'm really happy with her colour.

It Takes Two To Tango is probably one of my favourites of the bunch, even though it's a tough call.

They still need to be signed but atleast I can show them as is.

These models are the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th that I've finished this year. Hopefully I'll be able to finish a few more this year!

Anyway, tomorrow these 6 models make their debute at a liveshow. Wish me luck!

I might almost make it!

I have two more days to work on these and then my time is up. Some of them will most likely be finished in time and some, will not.

This girl will most likely be finished if I manage to get her base coat done tomorrow. She'll be a dark bay.

This girl will most likely not be finished even if I get her base coat finished tomorrow as she is supposed to be a dark bay leopard and I won't have time to finish all those whites and details in a day.

This guy will also not be finished. He has quite some way to go as he is supposed to be a buckskin going grey. I think I've managed to do an okay job with the base coat so far but all that dappling and greying will require some time.

The little pony mare will probably be finished if I manage to finish her base coat tomorrow as she will be a nice bay/dark bay.

The girl below will most likely be finished in time as she mostly has details and markings left to do. I'm quite happy with her colour and the fact that she's my first serious palomino and second dappled model.

This little guy also has markings and details left so he'll most likely make it.

My dark, red chestnut might make it if I manage to get his base coat done tomorrow.

This girl will most definitely not be finished in time as she's supposed to be a dark dapple bay and I'll not have time to do that colour justice in such a short amount of time.

My friesian will probably be finished in time as he only has acrylic details left to finish. He is not as flat black or shiny as he appears in the picture, I'll get better pictures as soon as they are finished.

I have realized that I won't be able to finish all of them in time for the show but if I'd manage to finish most of them I'd be very happy 😊
