Unpainted resins

This is my 200th blog post!

I have nothing overly exciting to share at the moment so here is unpainted resin shelf at the moment. With a few of my grails:

From left to right and back to front: Justin Tyme, Realta, Lohengrin, TIBBP medallion, Bruno, Sarah (the Labrador), Elsa and Tiny.

I'm about to prep these guys but as for painting I'm not sure who will paint all of them as I'm not good enough to do it myself. I will however paint the Labrador and the medallion :)

And I have to confess... I might have bought two more unpainted resins that are on their way :)

Body drawer

Some people have body boxes, I have a body drawer.

This where I keep all of the non-resin models (okay, the brown dog is a resin the rest are not) I am working on. most of them are in the prepping/priming stages but I do have a few that are in the painting stages and some that are closed to finished!

Not much has happened in the painting/prepping/resculpting department in a while but now, when I have all my works in progress gathered in one place I hope to do something about that!

My first Copperfox

My first Copperfox model was a reward I bought myself for passing my anesthesia exam some time ago and he arrived not too long ago and I finally have some pictures to show.

The box is really beautiful with the Union Jack and the Copperfox logo.

When opening the package I was greeted by a "welcome pack" wrapped in teal ribbon.

COA front

Among other things the "welcome pack" included a COA.

COA back

When removing the welcome pack this is what it looks like:

And beneath a layer of foam:

Finnegan!

He's absolutely beautiful!

He feels like quality and looks like it too!

He does have a few imperfections consisting of a few bumps in the finish in some places and a few small scratches on one of the socks but other than that he is pretty much perfect in my eyes!

I decided to name him Elessar as I thought he needed a regal name (and I was kind of in a period of binge watching LOTR around the time I ordered him).

He has a really expressive face.

And gorgeous details.

I just love his face!

And look at the detailed hooves!

And eyes!

This maybe my first Copperfox model but it'll certainly not be my last! I love this pretty boy and I have plans for him in both halter and performance! :)

Rewarding myself

The last few months in uni have been really, really tough. So in an attempt to keep myself motivated I rewarded myself with models for some achievements.

First of all I decided to reward myself for passing my anesthesia exam. That model arrived a few days ago and he will be properly presented in a few days.

My next reward model was for finishing my bachelor's thesis in time for examination. The bachelor's thesis was probably the hardest I've done in uni and believe me it was tough! So I really deserved another reward. That model has not arrived and probably won't for yet sometime but I knew that when I ordered her.

My last "reward" was more of an graduation gift for myself. She arrived about a week ago and will also be presented in a few days :)

Teaser pic of my "passing the anesthesia exam reward" :)

Foalies

At the show I was discussing Troublemaker with a fellow collector and she asked if he wasn't one out of several foals by the same artist and I said yes, I managed to gather 3 foals made by her and I think this is the trio she was thinking of so I thought my not a picture of them.

Chance, the bay tobiano on the left was made in 2002. Chance hasn't been shown by me and I haven't figured out a breed for her yet.
Troublemaker, the bay in the middle was made in 2003. Troublemaker has been shown a bit by me and he usually does quite well at shows as a Swedish Riding Pony.
Angel the bay sabino/tobiano on the right was made in 2008. Angel hasn't been shown much by me but she's done okay as a Swedish Warmblood.

These three little fellows have made their way to me at different times during the years. If I remember correctly Troublemaker was the first one I bought, followed by Angel and then Chance.

I know they had other names before the came to me but unfortunately I don't know them or can't remember them.

Qualification cards

Out of the 40 models I brought to the show, 24 of them came home with qualification cards to the Swedish Nationals. I think that's a really good outcome! That means that my stack of qualification cards is growing and more of my horses now have enough cards to earn themselves a bronze Star Shower Certificate! Although I don't plan to send them in just yet it's nice to see some of my favourite models earning enough cards :)

State of my stack of qualification cards, current and expired ones.

The ones written in a kind of bronzey colour (or whatever) are the ones that I have enough cards for to send in for a bronze certificate and will keep showing with the hopes to earn "higher" certificates! The ones written in green are models that I actively will try to earn certificates with.
