Introducing the collection

I'm sorry I haven't posted sooner. I have great ideas for performance and some of my favorite models I'd love to share but unfortunately I've lost the power cord to my external hard drive and of course, all my pictures are on that hard drive... And to top it all of, my camera isn't working and two nights ago my car broke down... Hopefully we can get the old car we have, standing around, working at the end of the week so I don't have to worry about how I'm going to get to work. And then I'll try to find the cord and a working camera so that I can give you some fresh pictures :)

But until then, I found some old pictures of my collection which I thought I could share. These pictures were taken in 2007, so I'd been collecting for almost 2 years by then.

Top shelf, showing of all my stablemates. I'm not sure how they got so many, since I am mainly into the bigger ones :)

Second shelf, showing of a nice blend of a little older molds and some newer.

Third shelf, showing of my wild rearing ones and my longer, stretching out models that are a bit too long for the shelves :)

Fourth shelf, showing of some of my favorites and some of my first Breyerhorses

Fifth shelf, mostly classic models and babies.

Sixth shelf, showing of some of my first models and also my very first Breyer horse, Henry, the Fjord.
The only models not shown in the pictures are my Schleich horses

Today, almost five years later, my collection consists of well over two hundred modelhorses (some dogs and cats too) varying from Breyer horses to Peter Stones, Schleich, CollectA, customs and resin casts. So I the collection has definitely expanded.

Hopefully I can post new pictures of my collection very soon and I'll also start introducing you to some of my favorites in the collection :)

My First Post

Yay! My first post on this blog. I thought I'd present a little bit more information about me, my hobby and the purpose of this blog.

First of all. Hi, my name is Tina, I'm soon to be twenty years old and I live in Sweden. I've always been very fond of horses (cats and dogs too, but mostly horses) and I've been riding since I was about five or six years old and my mother and I have a sweet little fjord gelding named Unik, who we've owned for 14 years by now. Nowadays it's mostly my mother who rides him since I'm now taking care of a Swedish warmblood gelding named Poppes. We've also recently added a new member to our family, a cute little crossbred dog named Slash. But enough about me and onto what this blog will be about.

I started collecting model horses around 2004 and it began with the Schleich fjord gelding. In 2005 I found, and joined, the Swedish Modelhorse Society, which opened a lot of new doors in the hobby. Today my collection consists of over 200 model horses ranging from Schleich, to Breyers, resin casts and Peter Stones, with Breyers being the majority. I'm mostly into original finish plastics or custom paintd resins. Still I've made a few attempts at repainting, with various results. I've also recently started into propmaking and very lightly in tackmaking but I will definately keep trying.

And now to the purpose of this blog. I really enjoy reading other people's blogs and felt inspired and wanted to share my own pictures of my collection, the stories behind those holy grails, showcase my newest acquisitions, show my progress in customs, tackmaking and propmaking, but perhaps the most important, I want to inspire others as I've been inspired.

And to end this ramble I want to apologize for any grammar and spelling mistakes, English is not my first language but I want to write the entries of this blog in English in order to maintain and expand my English knowledge and vocabulary, and of course to make it understandable to a bigger crowd :)

That's all for my first blog post. Thank you for reading and feel free to comment if there is anything you would like to know or read about.
